LwICT Class

Decker Colony School is situated in western Manitoba in Canada.  We are a small K-12 school with 33 students in total.
The use of information and communication technology in schools such as ours is becoming standard fare and we realize that students need to be taught how to be literate using ICT.  Basic skills such as conducting efficient searches on the web, selecting relevant and appropriate websites for their research and citing their work properly are all areas that need to be addressed.  Literacy with ICT (LwICT) a infusion program produced by Manitoba Education attempts to do just that.

In the pages that follow you'll find links to basic web pages produced by grades 4-7 students.  Students use various ICT tools to complete their research projects and we're hoping that through this inquiry, they will take another step to becoming literate with ICT.
